On behalf of HTs were only downloading pressure from above!!! Re these pupils do they sometimes get to write sentences using flash cards to order into sentences so get practice of writing a certain amount even if not as freely might inspire an increase to 3 letters next time:)

My daughter helped out in year 2 yesterday and loved how they chose to describe the wolf as a trickster. It is amazing the vocabulary that they know.

Post Talk the Big talk
Hi All.... that is the working (and possible final) title of the book am now 2/3 through. Have seen some great work with little people through the Big talk, but also beleieve it should be used across KS1 and 2 in one lesson a week... moving round the subjects, especially foundation.... Talk Posh / Talk high level structures / dialogic and debate...

Time invested with young children to enable them to become articulate and confident talkers and giving them a rich (appropriate vocabulary and confidence to 'play' with language and sentence structures is probably the greatest gift a teacher can give a young child... If children came into Year 1 already showing these behaviours I believe that when they DO start to write they will be so much further on... Ros
